Our Commitment
Sustainability
At BERKAM, sustainability isn't a marketing buzzword — it's baked into every decision we make, from sourcing to shipping.
How We Do It
Four Pillars of Sustainability
Materials That Matter
We use only ethically sourced materials: French grosgrain ribbon from family-owned mills, Italian acetate derived from renewable wood pulp, Japanese silk from certified suppliers, and hardware cast in recycled brass. Every material is named, traceable, and chosen for durability.
Small Batch Production
We produce in small batches to avoid overproduction and waste. Each piece is made to order or in limited runs, ensuring that nothing goes to landfill. When a design is retired, leftover materials are donated to local art schools.
Zero-Plastic Packaging
Our packaging is 100% plastic-free. Every order ships in a kraft paper box, tied with linen twine, and includes a handwritten thank-you card on recycled paper. Our shipping labels use soy-based ink.
Carbon-Conscious Shipping
We partner with DHL GoGreen for international shipments, offsetting carbon emissions for every package. Domestic US orders ship via USPS, the most fuel-efficient carrier per package.
"The most sustainable product is one that lasts. We design for longevity, not trends."
